Eating Raw Garlic and Its Benefits To Health



Garlic (allimum sativum) commonly known as a spice for cooking purpose. With a history of human use of over 7,000 years, garlic is native to central Asia, and has long been a principal ingredient in the Mediterranean region, as well as a common seasoning in Asia, Africa, and Europe. It was known to Ancient Egyptians, and has been used for culinary and medical purposes.

Garlic is easy to grow mild climates. Almost all of the garlic is cultivated by planting individual cloves in the ground. In cold climates, cloves are planted in the fall, about six weeks before the soil freezes, and harvested in late spring.


This ingredient had high effect on taste of a food. But, garlic has also another use for health purpose, especially when they are raw eaten. These are the use of garlic:

  1. Garlic contains antioxidants that can help prevent cancer. If you are a heavy smoker, you can chew raw garlic to protect the body and prevent cancer.
  2. Garlic contains anti-inflammatory. So if you have a fever, or a sore throat, just chew some garlic and your throat will soon be fit.
  3. Garlic is also a good anti-bacterial. Mix the chopped garlic raw in salads if you had gastrointestinal infection, and your digestion will be better.
  4. Antioxidants in garlic can also expel toxins from the body. The benefit is not only for health but also slow the aging.
  5. If you are suffering arthritis, crushed raw garlic then compress on the knee or in any pain in the bone. Garlic will relieve the pain.
  6. Poison such as mercury or arsenic can also be relieved by eating raw garlic. However, this only works only as first aid. Get immediate intensive care from a doctor for further treatment.
  7. Chewing red garlic can help strengthen the blood circulation and open up blocked blood vessels.
  8. If you had diabetes, garlic can control the amount of sugar in the blood.
Because it’s sharp aroma, you should your teeth after chewing the garlic. Of course you don’t want to disturbed another person by your bad breath, do you?
